or do it the EASY way and download a program that you can drag folder in it and it does it.

You can't. The only way you may be able to is to download some third party software which edits windows xp and allows you to password a folder.

Windows itself can't password protect an individual folder/file. You can encrypt the file, and you can set the permissions so that only your account can access the files (use group policy).

look in windows help, protecting files or folders. lets you password protect almost anything in xp

you need NTFS
that is format for file system that support security and no other account in your pc can open this folder except how have permison.
