Yes, that's not exactly a murderer's row schedule. Decent, but not national title-worthy. They played a Division 1-AA school (Sacramento State), and only five of their opponents played in a bowl game (Oregon State, Hawaii, Utah, San Jose State, and my alma mater, Nevada).

However, while the WAC is not great (only rated 8th out of 11 Division 1-A conferences), they play some decent football out west here, and anyone who compares the WAC to Division III or whatever obviously doesn't watch or know football that well. Three of four WAC teams won bowl games (against Mountain West, Pac-10 and Big 12), and the only loss was Nevada by 1 point to five-time national champion Miami (ACC) on a last second interception.

Boise State does win the title for most on-field marriage proposals, though, heheh.

Boise state deserves a shot at the national title just like every other top 25 team. People on the east coast don't know how difficult it is for teams in the Wac and the Mountain West to recruit guys from the east and the midwest to come to their schools. If a school can put a winning program onto the field that both college football polls recognize as a good program. Than they deserve a shot at the national title. I would put my money on Boise State defeating any team from the Big 10, 12 or the SEC. Utah easily beat Boston College who is an ACC team. Bring a simple playoff system into college football like they do in basketball, hockey and baseball.

Uhm...you forgot about the Bowl game vs Oklahoma. and don't forget that oregon state beat ucla....they ain't to shabby...i think they finished like number 25. but the oklahoma game was the game that made me feel that they got shafted a bit. they are coached amazingly well...say what you will about whoever your favorite team is, boise state has an awesome coach. And...if there were playoffs, this wouldn't even be a debate...that's the solution...top 8 go to playoffs.

Um, you conveniently forgot to mention Oklahoma. Kind of beefs up their record a tad, doesn't it?

They'd deserve it if they won more Oklahoma-like games.

That is not their fault. No one knows if they could beat a OS or Florida.

Wazamatta with you, throwing logic into the equation? Don't you understand that it doesn't matter who you play?
