If you had to get it now, go with either the 360 or the Wii. They have the best games out right now. Sony's launch is a major screw-up of the highest magnitude. I think Sony's launch has got to be one of the worst in history. Probably ranks right up there with the Jaguar launch.
The 360 is a great system, but until it can infiltrate the Japanese market, it won't dominate.
Problem with the Wii is that it's too gimmicky. Are developers going to find enough innovative ways to use the Wii-mote? If they don't, it'll be just like a regular controller.
But if you can wait about 3 months to half a year, then I would go with the PS3. By this time next year, there should be a lot of good PS3 games, like Metal Gear Solid 4, Final Fantasy XIII, Lair, Heavenly Sword, etc.
All the systems will have more than 330 games for it throughout their life spans. That was totally worthless.

The PS3 technically does NOT have better graphics than a 360. Right now it doesn't even upscale games properly though firmware updates may fix that. I read a long (and professionally written) article on the PS3, and frankly...I am not that impressed. According to the game programmers it is hard as hell to make games for because the new processor isnt even DESIGNED for games. What the hell sony? I like Sony (my PSP is my favorite gadget) but I don't think the PS3 was a good choice. I would go with 360 right now because of the games (get gears of war...it ROCKS)...but the Wii is also tons of fun (Zelda anyone.) Eventually I would recommend both xbox and nintendo, but the PS3 I will never buy. Most of the great games come out for Xbox anyway (except most final fantasy)....And it isnt worth all the extra $$$. (As a side note, I think that HD-DVD will beat out Blu-Ray, so that even leans more toward the xbox)

Buy the cheapest and the best. The Wii. You can't beat it's controller. The PS3 looks cool but its way to expensive. And the Xbox 360 although its good, lots of people have been getting the red lights of death. Some get it when they haven't even had the system for a year.

I'm going with the Wii for a simple reason. It's just FUN.
I can't tell you how much I was laughing watching a mini-me run around play tennis. Granted I'd had a few beers, but aye.
It's just a fun system. Plus you can buy past games for any of the Nintendo systems for CHEAP. That's rad.
That, and Metroid 3 is going to be unbelievable. It makes me giggle at Halo fans.

I'd go with the wii because Nintendo is always a classic, and the new features with the remote are cool (also good workout for sports games).

I've had a 360 since September and it is great, I had a PS1, then a PS2, I liked them, but never as much as I like my 360. Plus the 360 has Gears of War, end of story.

The Wii also has 330+ games for it as well. Personally I think the Wii is the winner all around.

if you had to buy it today, I'd choose the 360, but 6 or 8 months from now when sony making a solid working ps3- that maybe a more fun choice, but not right now.

The PS3 is by far the most technological advanced one but the price is much higher. It does have free online play that the Xbox does not.
