Beyond a doubt Joe Montana.........He was the coolest under pressure and never gave up............His drive to win was second only to Jordan's drive in basketball..........Joe has 4 SuperBowl rings...........Only Terry Bradshaw won 4 SuperBowls besides Joe but Montana was still the better QB..............He didn't have the strongest arm in the game but he had the quickest mind and could find his receiver in a heartbeat because he could read a field so well..........That's something no one else had..........Brady is much along Montana's style and, to me, is still terribly underrated..............CAT

asserting Joe Montana become the excellent QB ever is a speedy and uncomplicated answer , in spite of the shown fact that it ought to no longer be precise. Joe Montana performed in a era while it become easier to bypass the ball. previous to 1974 while the NFL replaced the regulations, a shielding decrease back ought to hit a receiver at any time everywhere on the sphere. So previous to 1974 a QB could have a receiver come open for an on the spot just to have that receiver leveled by applying a shielding decrease back. As you may think of this made the passing game a great purchase distinctive decrease back then, and a great purchase harder for the QB. All that having been suggested i could ought to vote for Johnny Unitas via fact the excellent QB ever, he performed interior the time while passing become harder and nonetheless have been given the job completed.

My personal top 5.

5-Bret Favre. Old school QB in a modern era. He'd have been great in the 60's.

4-Dan Marino. Not a Big Game QB, but man did he ever put up some numbers. He is the measuring stick for Stats QBs today.

3-John Elway. Cannon for an arm, good brain, and great will to win. Shame it took him til the end to win a SB, but hey, he got there, which is why he's higher on my list than Dan the Man.

2- Terry Bradshaw. 4 Rings. Nuff said.

and my Number 1 (and I will suppress the DUH here lol)..............................Joe Montana. Not a great runner, not a great passer (admit it people, he was average in the old Arm Strength category), but if there was ever, or will ever be, a better big game QB, I have yet to learn his name.

As for the future no. 1, Tom Brady is the heir apparent, and in some ways, he may already BE No. 1. Remember, all those years in SF, Monatna had the greatest WR to ever breath catching passes, and the best ever recieving RB (Roger Craig) in the backfield. Brady has NEVER had a marquee WR (big middle finger in the air to Branch >.>), yet has three rings. If the Pats win the SB this year....he at least moves up to 3 or 4 on my list.

well, he may not be considered the best yet, but I think when it's all over Drew Brees will be considered a top 3 qb. Brees, and Brady. I like Elway too. There is not a "best" there are only the best of the best if you know what I mean. These guys are Farve, Montana, Elway, Marino, Brees, Brady, etc. many more....

You have to say Joe Montana. Never had a losing season in a non strike year. 4 Superbowls.

Dan Marino has all the records. Brett Farve is close behind. Championships is what matters and what people remember.
