Most of my friends took classes at local colleges during the summer between 10th and 11th grade and 11th and 12th grade. If your school offers Advanced Placement classes, then you can take those while receiving college credit for the class if you pass the AP exam in May. Since it is also a high school course, you will be killing two birds with one stone.

Taking those AP classes look great on your college applications, but in my school, they only allowed us to take them after our freshman year. You should check with your counselor if you are interested in those.
