Hercule Poirot Vs Sherlock Holmes

Sherlock Holmes was the best. He could solve cases quicker than Poirot in his armchair and so was called the armchair detective but Poirot also gives him a tough competition as they are the best of the best fictional detectives of all times. Writing Sherlock Holmes was a hobby but writing Hercule Poirot was a job.
Sherlock has already proved his wits in just 56 short stories and 4 novels but Poirot has proved in many cases. Sherlock Holmes could solve a case at his armchair but he travelled to just get evidences and Poirot also had the same ability. Sherlock Holmes and Poirot are friends as they work in the same profession .There are no FIGHTS but they could have solved cases in seconds if they were together. Compare the fights against cases to a athletic running race and I would feel Sherlock Holmes and Poirot would have been a tie or the winner would be Sherlock Holmes with Poirot loosing by 0.000000000000000000000000001 sec.

Holmes and Poirot rock and they are cool. They are not supposed to be compared

I think sherlock holmes is a better detective.Holmes can easily make deductions about a crime by examinating the clues. That gives him useful informations about the criminal and helps him know things about the official police has no idea.Conversely, poirot could not do something in a crime that there are no witnesses.Except of that,Holmes did not NEED dr.Watson.He was his friend,so he liked to solve mysteries with him.

I go for Hercule Poirot!!! Somebody already mentioned this and I agree with the point that Sherlock is too perfect. Poirot is much more natural and would be better in solving a bunch of cases which Sherlock might take longer to solve.

I vote poirot!! Holmes depends too much on clues but poirot can solve the case just by talking to people! and also because poirot considers the psychology of the suspects which holmes does not often do!!

I'd call Holmes. I've read more of his books and seen more of the old films. If Holmes was busy, then I'd call Poirot.

I think Poirot is more systematic. Holmes is more intuitive.

I vote Poirot, just because he isn't as much of a woman hater as Holmes.
