who has been to mary kay party? does the makeup seller do facials or do you apply your own makeup? I'm curious, I've never been to one and want to buy some mary kay products

they give u little trays with wells in them and a mirror inside and they go around and place the cleanser and etc. in there and u follow the instructions of the consultant as a group. she or he will give u all the stuff u need like a wet towelette and applicators for the makeup. some parties i have been to they will also let u pick makeup samples to try, at others they help u choose a foundation but then everyone gets the same basic color samples to put on, with the consultant asking u to set another appointment for a color consolation later. depends on the consultant.

I am an a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant myself. In general at a party we do what we call facials where you try the skin care, foundation, and then color(eye shadow, blush, lip color). You will apply these products on yourself as the Consultant instruct you on the order of application. We do this so that when you get your product home, you will know how to apply it yourself. I would be gald to answer any other questions. You can go to my website and check out the awesome products and click on contact me to email me with questions. Thank you

it really just depends on the party and the host/consultant. I have done parties all different ways: facial on the back of the hand, full facial, product preview only with minimal sampling, and everything in between. It really depends on length of time and number of guests on how much you will do. however, you could contact the host or the consultant to find out. If they aren't doing enough at the party for you to feel like you've learned enough, you could do a one on one appointment.

The goal of a party is to introduct a whole line/many products to a group, so it's really hard to make it very individualized. I always do a one on one with each person at the end of the party for about 5 minutes each.
