I am afraid that this year, I was unable to follow football as much as I had liked. I am looking for an honest to god, unbiased view of how the Pats stack up against the rest of the NFL in the playoffs. Doesnt all the experiene mean something? Thanks

Brady cements his standing as the greatest Big-Game QB since ol' Joe Montana hung em up.
Schottenheimer plays prevent defense with a lead late in the 4th, allowing Brady to drive the field a la John Elway (against Schottenheimer in the late 1980s) for the go-ahead touchdown. Schottenheimer secures his place in purgatory and retreats to Canada.
Patriots win, 21-10. You can write that down.

I would have to say that they have a real chance. I think they can beat San Diego and there is the chance the Colts pull out the miracle against the Ravens. In that scenario the Pats crush the Colts and any NFC Team in the Superbowl.

Brady-Top rated QB in Playoffs
11-1 in the Playoffs
San Diego has a rookie QB
Marty will go back to being too Conservative
Pats win easily

The Colts have weak defense and Bill has their number.
The only road block I think is the Ravens. They are the only true challenge for the Pats.

Chicago lacks the offense against the Pats and they beat them in the regular season.
The Saints do not match up well against the Pats
Seahawks? No way
The Eagles would be a good fight. Not enough to win.

They have the momentum and the experience.

Pats face a big test on the road against the rested Chargers. If they can slow down LT and get ahead so Rivers has to pass a lot, the Pats have a chance. The SD secondary is suspect too, so look for Brady to pick them apart, provided he has time to throw. Recall what the Pats did against the Steelers a few years ago on the road against the top D and a 15-1 team. It can be done, and the Pats coaches are planning the strategy as we speak.

The road to the Super Bowl in the AFC goes through San Diego, which is an excellent team with their league MVP Tomlinson. New England is a great team and they have been there, with Tom Brady having 3 SB rings, but you have to watch out the Colts. Peyton Manning got the monkey off his back by finally winning a playoff game last Saturday against the Chiefs and they could be very tough next weekend against the Chargers.

The Chargers, Patriots, Colts and Ravens are all equally good, but the Patriots have to play 2 games on the road while San Diego has homefield advantage for both games. So San Diego has a better chance of making it. Baltimore also has an edge because they have the best defense, and defense wins championships. I think the patriots have about a 10% chance of winning the superbowl.

I am a big Patriots fan and I say they do have a chance to go. But, I do know that San Diego is a tough team this year. Have to wait and see what the outcome of the game is next week.

They certainly do..............They have the experience, the knowhow, a QB that doesn't rattle and a coach that knows every trick in the book...........and uses it!!!..........The other contenders don't have that kind of combination going for them.........They have seasoned players who have been there and won more than once........It's a great combination of things and I wouldn't count them out at all.................CAT
