I grew up in woods of Maine and Washington State, worked as a logger many years from child of 8 to old manhood and whenever anyone has asked me if I believe in bigfoot. I reply, "I believe there could be such a thing as bigfoot".
When they ask me if I ever seen one I reply' Would you expect me to tell you if I did"?
Being a hunter of above average abilitys, not bragging just fact, I have seen men walk within f ive feet of game animals never seeing them from small varmits such as a fox to a large elk.
I hunted one deer for five years from one patch of woods no more than 250 acres in size. I glimpsed him more than once every year but only in passing until I just plain outwaited him. Twice I walked within 15 feet of it, let me pass and then bounded away.
In war over eighty men and I looked took days looking for one lone Vietnamese who fired at airplanes when they took off from a hilside of over 150 acres and we never found him. the guy for all I know may still be shooting at airplanes.
Hideing is an animals survival, and mans when he acts like an animal, and while man may of set foot upon every piece of land on earth, there is no place not even the Amazon jungle man has not stepped upon, but only in passing, and as usual he was either lost or looking for valuable items and man is a very short sighted creature.
I know and have known many who say they saw one and in one instance a fella saw three at once, male female and smaller version and while I could rib him about it if any flatlander did so he may get a busted nose or worse.
Do I want for them to be there, living a life of almost unlimited freedom?
Yes!
To believe that somewhere something unknown and uncaptured without man killing it for fun, pleasure or profit can suvive mankinds corruption and just live in natures own beauty; glad to just be alive is may seem to some just a fantasy, but;
To me They will always be alive until man destroys them.

I don't think it's 100% certain but I do think it is likely. I also think the Mongolian Death Worm, Mokele-Mbembe, Chupacabras, Giant Congo Snake and a lot of others are also likely to exist.
Basically my reason is the usual 'we are discovering new species all the time' and rediscovering species that were thought to be extinct. Like that other guy said, humans aren't particularly observant creatures and it wouldn't be hard to walk right past bigfoot and not even notice. Unless they really do stink as bad as they are supposed to but that's not the point. Point is, it's not outside the realm of possibility that there are animals on the planet we haven't captured and stuck in a zoo. I don't see bigfoot as the missing link or anything, just another animal.

I think it's more important to wonder if Big Foot believes in us! I don't see why people need solid evidence to prove his existence. Look at all the fools who believe in a God they've never captured. Then there's all the Elvis sightings, UFOs, and unseen mothers-in-law out there. I've never met George Bush in person, and (well, no, I don't believe in HIM)... Okay, try another one... People believe in say, King Arthur -yet some say there's no real proof he actually existed. We believe in a missing link, even though it's yet to be found (well, SOME do.) Many people believe in their unborn children, even though they aren't even preggers yet...

OK, yes I do, in a way. I know that there are miles of forests that man hasn't seen or stepped in so who knows what is in there. I have watched most all of the documentaries on Bigfoot as they interest me a lot. If there is a Bigfoot, I think that he would be intelligent enough to stay away from man, you know what I mean. We would kill him. Scientists are finding new species all the time, so why not a "missing link" so to speak of. The creature Bigfoot seems to shy away from humans, so it would be hard for us to find one. And if there are some, then God Bless them, and I hope that they survive. Cool question.

Yeah, and Nessie too. The last holdouts of a species near extinction. They probably already are extinct by now but the legends were likely sown out of fact.

I'd love to believe in Bigfoot, but the evidence of his existence is very, very sketchy. I won't say that I don't believe in him, so I have to take a politician's stance and say he MIGHT exist.

When/if someone ever finds any *remains* of Bigfoot (or captures one alive), then I'll believe. But for now, I do not.
