I just got a new tower and now my monitor keeps freezing up. I have checked the wires all good to good.... when it freezes a bunch of colored bars show on the screen but the tower doenst freeze... so its not that. The monitor is only a year old so i hope its not the prob.. can anyone help me.. its making me mad lol.. it always freezes at the worst times... then i gotta hit the power button and start it all up again!!!!

Usually when you see "a bunch of colored bars" on the monitor,
it points to a bad video card.

If you have another video card handy , try it and see if the issue re-occurs. If it doesn't then you know for sure it's the video card.

does it give u any error? how do u know that it only freeze the monitor and not the tower? does it freeze at the same screen always? need more info...

Maybe your new tower has a bad video card.

Do you have the right drivers loaded for your video card? Or did you just bring it up with default drivers from windows?
