I've been looking for this song since the early 2000's. The lyrics were set to a jazzy/swing/big band type background - very good to tap dance to..and it could be an oldie, I am not sure.
Here are the lyrics I remember:

Vague, I know, but I am hoping someone will know it!

Even as a musician, I wouldn't know how you'd classify it...like I wrote earlier - probably Swing/Big-Band/Oldies-style...it went to a moderately-fast tempo and my class tap-danced to it.

the only thing i can think of is broadway rhythm. sung by gene kelly in singin in the rain. now thats an oldie.
