I remember watching that movie sooo many years ago. Because of that movie, I tried to beat every game I ever owned. Not because I believed aliens would come to me and say, "Hey, you wanna come and work for me?" But because it was just more fun to pretend that I was the best player in the universe, not just on my block. It was on a cable channel over the holidays, and I couldn't help but watch it. I think it is worth having on a recording, especially if you have children and want to share that old movie magic with them. I have a niece who is 10 months old; and when I see an old movie on DVD that I enjoyed as a kid, I pick it up for when she gets older.

Of course... great movie from back then. Loved the "Star Car". Grig and Centauri are hilarious.
"Yes, one starfighter against the armada. I've always wanted to fight a desparate battle against incredible odds..."
"Great. I'm stuck a million miles from home and the gung-ho iguana wants me to relax"

Despite all the advances in CGI since then, I still think it's a fun movie with a fun plot concept. Go for it...if you don't like it, you can always erase it.

If you are of a certain age (over 30), it will bring back memories of old game graphics. It is okay, but I wouldn't consider recording it even when it was new.

I still have the copy my mom recorded off Cinemax in the 80s. My VCR is broke, but I still have it. It's older but it's cool.
