Western Christian Churches

In the Western church, the feast of Christmas was established before that of Epiphany.

The early western Church decided to celebrate Christmas on December 25. The East continued to treat January 6 as the day marking Jesus' birth. The west generally acknowledges a twelve-day festival, starting on December 25, and ending on January 5, known as Christmastide or the twelve days of Christmas

New Years Day or New Years EVE. It represents the New Year. But some Orthodox Christians take their decor down after 3 Kings Day which is some time in January. But most Americans keep their Christmas decor up during like the Fourth of July because they're lazy.lol:)

Because Christmas only lasts one day and it's over, two days after. you should also have a New Year, not just Christmas. I see more people leaving them up for months now though. Christmas now seems to even overlap halloween. Such a shame that the greatest holiday of the year is being overtaken. I mean, what's better than getting the chance to pretend to be evil?

Depends on the person and sometimes the circumstances. We usually take ours down on or around New Years Day, but one year we had to take it down Dec 26th because the tree was completely dead
