as stated, this is 4th pregnancy, and i know i always had a lot of discharge, but this seems different..so thick, abundant, and white. sry for the excessive details, but its like when you are real dry and wipe and tiny chunks of tissue stick to your vaginal area..the spots of discharge are formed individually, and remind me of babies vernix coating. i am 7 months and this has carried on for some time. i have not asked doc about it yet.. i have not seen him for the last 2 1/2 months......it is winter here, 1 vehicle, doc is almost an hour away, gas prices (buy gas for visit or food for other child in home and pay bills)and blah...i also get quite dry and itchy at times, making my whole vaginal area swollen from rubbing and itch relief...Please no rude comments here..I am married, happily, and i clean daily , sometimes every other day, depending...i am not dirty or skanky. but the itch relief and swelling also leaves me sore for a while... why?and the white discharge wtf?

I agree that it must be some type of infection. It might be a simple yeast infection (which I experienced at 3 months) or it might be bacterial vaginitis. BV is accompaned by a foul odor tho. However, the two are similar and it's best to check with a doctor. You can always attend the nearest Family Planning clinic, which has affordable prices. Yeast infections are usually treated with over the counter creams and suppositories, but sometimes they do not kill all the bacteria associated with the infection. Since your body is undergoing many changes, this is perfectly normal but you should always get it checked out if it proves to be continually bothersome.

I think you need to see your doctor because it sounds like you may have an infection. Trichomoniasis
What are the symptoms?
You might not have any symptoms. If you do, you may have a yellowish, greenish, or grayish vaginal discharge, often with a frothy appearance and an unpleasant odor. Your vagina and vulva might get red, irritated, or itchy (this is called vaginitis), and you might experience some discomfort during intercourse or while urinating. You may notice lower abdominal discomfort, but it's less common. Symptoms could start soon after you become infected, or show up much later.

If you have symptoms of trich, let your practitioner know so you can be tested for it, for other causes of vaginitis, and for other STIs. To test for trichomoniasis, your practitioner will take a swab of vaginal fluid and examine it under a microscope. She may also send a sample to the lab for a more sensitive test.

How is trichomoniasis treated during pregnancy?
If you have bothersome symptoms and are diagnosed with trich, you'll be given a course of oral metronidazole, which is now considered safe to take during pregnancy in most cases. Your partner should be treated at the same time, whether or not he has symptoms (most men don't). You'll need to abstain from sexual intercourse or, at the very least, make sure your partner uses a condom until you've both finished the treatment — otherwise, you risk being reinfected. You'll both also need to refrain from drinking alcohol during treatment and for 24 hours following the last dose (pregnant women shouldn't be drinking anyway)

It sounds like from the itching that you may have a yeast infection which is so common in pregnant women. I asked my doctor if I ever got one what to do and she said go to any store and buy Monistat 7.
