I'm sick of hearing people begrudging the act of paying their portion of raising their kids. It makes us all look bad.
I have never been a single day late on mine in 8 years and pay it willingly and proudly every month but because of the other type who create the stereotype I have to look bad.
Why don't all parents who pay it do so with pride and dignity.

For those whiners saying you keep your kids 1/2 the time and still have to pay and blah blah blah...It's a mathematical formula. You are making more than her so you have to pay to keep the lifestyles "similar" in both households. THIS PROTECTS YOUR CHILDREN.
I'm telling you, 99 percent of these answers are great but the losers are now starting to flow in.

only a loser and moron would begrudge helping support his child. its these morons that see child support as ex wife support...i paid every month for ten years and spent every minute with my daughters that i could...your children are your legacy and proof u ever existed on this earth. i have absolutely nooooooooooo sympathy for fathers or mothers that dont pay their support to their children and end up in jail. honey buzz, you are an idiot!

I knew there had to be some decent fathers out there somewhere. Thank you for showing me I was right. My daughter's ex needs to hear from you! He brought a cop with him to her house one night trying to say he had more "rights" than the court gave him. My daughter has full & sole custody. The father willingly gave her full custody. The cop told the ex that the only rights he had were to the listed visitation times and the "right" to pay child support. To this day he sees it as a court imposed punishment and doesn't let the kids or my daughter forget it. Thank you for being a man and what sounds like a good father.

I don't think most men mind paying child as long as the amount is fair. When men start having a problem with the concept is when the cost is so high they have to choose to pay child support or eat & pay rent. I have know people who have becom homeless over unreasonable child support bills. Fairness is the key.

I don't know, and it is not just men paying child support, sometimes women pay support too. I think it is awesome that not only you pay support in a timely fashion but you do so willingy and recongnize that it is your obligation, good for you. It takes two people to make a child, of course it would take two people to raise that child.

I pay mine as well- remember though it is called (child support) and for some based on the person who is receiving it, it is not always being used to support the child and there is no real way to check and see if it being spent as it is intended or required.

I am forced to pay child support, and still have my kids half the time anyways. Why am I paying for things at their mother's house while I am also having to pay to raise them at mine as well.
Also, I don't get to claim either child on my taxes, can't qualify for the child tax credit, or claim any of the daycare as well. And, I have to pay to insure both kids and split medicals bills after insurance.
That is why some of us are bitter about paying child support.

KUDOS TO YOU . IF YOU GO BACK AND READ MY QUESTIONS ON SUPPORT NONE OF THEM I HOPE SAY I DONT WANT TO GIVE THE IMPRESSION I DONT WANT TO SUPPORT MY CHILD. BUT MY SITUATION AND VIEW ON THE SUBJECT IS THAT WHILE PAYING CHILD SUPPORT IS THE A GOOD START IT DOES NOT DEFINE YOU OR ME AS A GREAT FATHER OR PERSON. I DONT KNOW HOW MUCH YOU PAY AND HOW MUCH YOUR CHILD MOTHER CONTRIBUTES HER OWN MONEY TO THECHILD SO THATS WHERE MY COMPLAINTS LIE. A lot of men don't want to pay child support because they're are so scared or angry that their child/children's mother is going to benefit from it as well.

Because they feel their ex is trying to prevent them from having a life and don't want to support their kids.

Well the ex`s usally spend it on somthing other than the child so its basically like throwing money to the wind
