I think the best rap song ever written was "Can't Touch This" by M.C.Hammer. No I don't like rap music and there are few songs I listen to which contain any type of rap, but ... the effect this song had was BIG. Many others copied it, jokes by the dozens were made, the video with his big pants and those qwerky side steps are unforgettable, and even those who hated the song know most of the lyrics. It was infectious. It was choreographed well. It was very remember-able. There may be better songs written. There may be better videos made. But the truth is, whether you hate it or love it, "Can't Touch This" was a huge success.

Not the best, but much better than the songs of today. How much intelligence is needed to use profanity over and over again?
