Do you mean engineering or testing?
Engineering advantages include cures for illnesses, but the disadvantage is we don't know enough yet to really fix a problem.
Testing advantages are knowing if you will have an illness, but the disadvantage is difficulty in getting insurace to pay for treatments.

There is no advantage or disadvantage ! It is just there, just like earth. Is there any advantage or disadvantage of earth ? No. None !
