go to kakario village and go into the first shop by the shaman's house. you can buy the hylian shield there. (it's got talo's pic on it.)

A wooden shield is not gonna get you far in the mines because it will burn up, go warp to the Kariko village during the day and go to the malo mart, and buy the metal shield, it will be the last one you need!
Here is a website I use to "help" me out, it is awesome, the only thing is some of the videos will not show until you let it play through and push the play button again, good luck!

go to the hot water spa out side the mines
there u can find 1 shield the wooden 1 for 50ruppes
or if u go to the village near by u can buy the one for 200rupess which wont burn or break. they also sell the wooden one for 50rupess
