it seems to me that with the talent most teams have at quarterback and running back, the option seems like a natural play that most teams should run.

NFL players are a hell of alot faster then college players. The only QB I think could pull it off is Vick. I think I've only seen it once in the NFL and the QB got killed on the play.

Yeah, most defenses are faster, and the option involves running off the tackles. There is too much east to west running and defenses can catch up to it.

Vick and Dunn did run the option alot. It worked for a couple weeks. It was designed so either Vick handed it to Dunn or took it himself. They tried to add some passing plays out of it and it just didn't work after that really.

Yeah, you can keep running and killing the clock, but if you want to be aggressive then passing plays will bring points quickly. So the best streategy is in the first half pass as much as possible and build a huge lead, then in the second run everything and grind out the clock and win the game. Simple isn't it!!!

Because the defenses in the NFL are faster and smarter but I think Vick and Dunn should try it anyway just one time.

You're forgetting the talent the other team has at linebacker.

LB's are much better in the NFL and it just wouldn't have the same effect as in college.
