No, ask your doctor if you don't believe me, the body sleeps for the amount of time it requires. Many people sleep only 3-5 hours per night with absolutely no ill effects whatsoever.
It depends on how active you are and particularly how old you are also. The older a person gets, generally the less sleep they require.
Babies sleep for almost the whole day whereas a ninety year old will commonly sleep for around 4.
Needing 8 hours of sleep is a complete myth . .an old wive's tale if you prefer.

Sleep is sill not fully understood an it's full of misconceptions.
Recently I read a good study that showed a full 6.5hrs of sleep is the sweet spot, as those people lived the longest. Keep in mind that's actual sleep time, so if it takes you 30mins to fall asleep, then you need to lay down 7hrs before your alarm kicks in.
The magical "8hrs" is a myth that's never been proven, or disproved aside from the study I mention, sorry I don't have a url for it.

Greetings
Well, it depends on your age. Sleep early and cover your 8 hrs
sleep. Children and old people needs more sleep. You can recover your sleep during day time. Do not eat junky food. A cup of milk before sleep will help you a lot, Be sure wash your mouth and teeth well. Old saying; NEVER GO TO BED WITH ANGER

You would be less stressed. Your body and mind need sleep to heal from the day before.

this is how i see it.......yes you do live longer....cause you are awake more hours...making your days longer...when your asleep your not really living your sleeping.....the more you sleep...the shorter the days....the less you sleep the longer the day....makes sense?....and if your meaning age wise...if you'll live longer...no one knows how long they are gonna live.....you can die at a young age...meaning that if you slept less and died at a young age...then sleeping less hours didnt mean you were going to live longer....and if you die at an old age....its not cause you slept less......you get it?....think about it...

5-7 hours is way too little.
It should be from 7-9 hours. (yes, those extra hours make a huge difference)

No, experts recommend at least 8 hour to live longer.
