Life being much more natural, it was more real and peaceful in certain aspects.
It's kinda scary to think what computers will be like 20 yrs. from now, as well as fascinating actually.
I imagine 3D images will project (optionally) from computer screens someday which would lead into more social problems, as it's already rapidly doing so in many ways for some people.
But it'll breed more needed therapies to treat folks w/internet addictions and specialized therapists to treat people w/social isolation all due to the good ol' net (both a blessing and a curse)

I really think I miss actually being able to "get away from it all". Modern technology has progressed so far that even when someone is on vacation, it is expected (in many companies) to stay connected and in touch. Between e-mails/PDAs/cell phone w/internet connections, etc., it's not uncommon for someone to check into work every day even while on vacation!

It's ironic--many companies insist that you take your time-off because you need the downtime, but in the same breath ask you to check your e-mails, call into meetings, etc.

I had a director who point-blank told me that unless I was out of the country, she expected me to check my voicemails, e-mails and talk to my staff every day while my family and I were on vacation. Needless to say, we went "out of the country" for the 2 1/2 years I worked for her!

I miss the days when child molesters/predators needed to work a little harder. I miss that pornography wasn't as accessible. Identity theft was a little more simple back then.
