Today I was at a store where they sell very fashionable jewelry and clothing. After my purchase my sister told me that, "I dressed white". I was like, what? Are you serious! So, my question is the following....Is there such a thing like dressing white, black, hispanic, or asian? I know each ethnic group has their own style, but why is it considered white or black to dress a certain way? Do I make sense?

Well you see. when you wear clothing that is dyed a certain color, one can only assume that you are dressing that color, hence the reason why they have colors in the first place. Here give this a try, wear red and see if she tells you that you are dressed red. If she does, go punch yourself in the face.

of course there is a tendency to dress as peers or culture are inclined eg. you see a woman wearing a burka what nationality or ethnic group comes to mind ?

Makes sense to me. Like it or not, ethnic groups have certain tastes.

It depends on people. I used to think all the African Americans wear clothes like hiphop but sometims I see them wearing goth clothes. same with white. white people sometimes dress like African American. so yeah, it depends on people.

When someone makes a stupid racist comment like that, I would say, "Thanks. That's the look I was going for." The person is an idiot.
