I am a Husker fan and I consider myself a big fan. But I guess you have to live in this state to understand what I'm talking about. There's this typical Husker fan who think that it's Nebraska's god given right to play for the championship every year. They get credit for being the nicest fans in the world but in reality, they are arrogant. They think that they are good when they really suck. Sometimes it makes me happy when we lose because these people get pissed off and start pointing fingers. They have no life.

Guess the last 10 years haven't been noticed in Lincoln.

I'd say the college football world revolves around Gainesville at the moment.

I'm in Nebraska too, and I'm a big fan.

The problem is, there's good fans and bad fans. When the kids lose, you can find out who you're talking to by their response to the question, "so, what did you think of the Texas game?"

The good fans will kind of give you a sheepish look, and usually come back with, "well, we had it for awhile - if it wasn't for that fumble, we had a real shot - was a good game, they played really well".

The bad fans will get mad, and come back with "that #&!**&@ moron should have just held on to the *()!*)(()*@ #*)(*# ball, what the hell is wrong with him? What the &&@(*@ was with that play call, anyway? Oh well, we'll still win the Big 12 North and then whoop their *()#@*#)(@ in the championship, then it's BCS time for us!"

Bad fans EXPECT wins. They get mad when they don't get what they want. But if the Huskers win, they're the biggest fans on the planet.

Good fans APPRECIATE wins. You realize they are really just kids on the field. I mean, a loss is a loss, and they're not easy to take - but you don't run around acting like it's the end of the world as you know it. You take it and move on.

Imagine if we applied the bad Husker fan mentality to a team like Notre Dame. We'd be "The Suicidal State".

This doesn't happen only in Nebraska. Every die hard fan has their favorite team and do the same things that Husker fans do you just don't hear about it as much. That kind of stuff happens when its about the only thing sports to talk about all year long. Does Nebraska deserve every bowl bid they have gotten...probably not but you can't explain to me why Notre Dame was in a BCS bowl game when they were the most overhyped team in college football this year

That's what happens when Husker Football is the only venue in the state. Where else can you pick up the local paper and still read about the College Football team everyday during the offseason. The answer is "no, because there is nothing else."

I'm sure fellow Nebraskans would think that the NU Coaching job is one of the best in college football. I would think it was somewhere in the lower top 20 primarily because of expectations and location.

I have lived in Nebraska for 10 years and no this state doesn't realize that the Huskers suck....but u couldn't convince them of that.
They buy a bowl game every year so the fans and can leave the state for a vacation.
