It is the input shaft speed sensor. This sensor is an input to the vehicle's TCM (transmission control module) to indicate input shaft speed, hence its name. If I remember correctly, the sensor is mounted externally on the transmission case. Therefore, it's really not a big deal to replace. As far as the cost is concerned, you could probably get a price on that part from your local Daimler-Chrysler dealer parts department. It shouldn't be too pricey. Hope this helps.
