Among the impostors by - Haddix, Margaret Peterson.
The house of the scorpion by - Farmer, Nancy, (This one won several awards.)

Try A Wrinkle in Time, A wind in the Door, A Swiftly Tilting Planet, and Many Waters by Madeline L'Engle. I am in sixth grade and I really liked them!

For a "tame" book " Raiders from the rings by Alan Edward Nourse
I read this when I was 12 and still have it. It was about spaceships and more importantly, had young folks as the major characters. Amazon.com for $6.00

-.- why not get something 7-8? go to your school library and look under science fiction. borrow something like chemistry book or eyewitness biomes book. anything to your needs. thats wut school library is for. if ur school has no library go to a public library
