xantrex 1500/3000 watt inverter. 100amp fuse in line. grounded to vehical. new battery 5 months ago. running same equipment, nothing new.... 2nd fuse blew after 15 minutes of use with vehical running.... any help appreciated.

wiring has not changed... inverter is hard wired to the battery... not plugged into lighter or power port.

I would start by checking the wiring anyway. Make sure it is not able to bump on something and short out. If all is fine there make sure the connections are tight. If you have a loose connection you could blow your fuse just like with a short. If you have a DC amp meter you could watch it to see if there is a jump in amps.

Then being it is out of warnty you might pop the top off the inverter and see if everything looks ok in there nothing loose or not black spots where it is getting hot.

Then if the fan is not working it just might be getting hot too. You did say it took it about 15 minutes to blow the fuse?

After you have checked all that you could get it fixed for about what it is worth or just get a new one. I have a Xantrex Prosine 2.0.. great inverter.

change the lighter to a power port

Recheck the wiring, something is doing what its not susposed to, shorting out, ect.

Probably because the warranty has just expired.
