The Xbox will not play Xbox360 games, but some Xbox games are compatible with Xbox360.

Does a Playstation play Playstation 2 games? Does a Playstation 2 play Playstation 3 games? Does a Gameboy play Nintendo DS games? Does the NES play Nintendo 64 games? No, I didn't think so. Old technology would fry under the power of new technology.

no, while backward compatibility exists. forward compatibilty is not ever going to be possible. because the x-box360 has updated hardware it would be impossible to run the games for it on lesser hardware. and most often companys use a slightly diffrent form of laster light to read the discs and as such the discs tehmselves are diffrent allowing them to only be played on the newest version of the console. sorry friend thats the facts of life when it comes to game consoles there good for usually 4-6 years then its time to pay for a new one. or stop playing
