Im 16 and I'm my high schools football as an offensive lineman, and im really fat. I weigh around 375 pounds and i barely fit in my uniform. Its always on the verge of ripping. But everybody at my school thinks its cool that im so big. My buds are always calling me fatty and tubby and lard *** and telling me i need to get fatter, but we all laugh about it, and so does everyone in school. But there are a quite a bit of girls at my school who are pretty fat who just get teased. Everyone thinks its cool that im fat, but the girls dont get that kind of treatment.

I think the social acceptance of your fatness may be more due to the fact that you're on the football team than anything else. The fact that your friends in fact call you names indicates they're not as socially accepting as you think.
Overall, however, it is not socially acceptable for a male to be fat, though (unfortunately due to years of ridiculous social inequality) it is less socially reprehensible than for females. Men are still bombarded with images of what the ideal body is (Abercrombie and Fitch anyone...?) and in movies and television are told fatness is either unattractive or comical.

It may be marginally acceptable right now because you play a sport in which being big is an advantage, but it will catch up to you. I suggest that you start taking your weight problem seriously now rather than after high school. Being fat on a High school team may be alright, but it's usually not the same if you want to play at the College level because there will most likely be another Offensive lineman in better shape than you.
Most importantly, get in shape for yourself. You'll find out who is really your friend when they encourage you to get in shape. Good teammates will encourage you whenever they can.

I don't think men or women get a break on being overweight. Once you're out of school, you'll find that employment opportunities will hinge on your appearance.
I also don't think it's endearing for other guys to call you fatty, tubby, or lard-a(s(s.
Your heart, lungs, knees, and hips are eventually going to give out due to all the excess weight. Why don't you try lifting weights and losing the fat and switching it out to muscle.

The same reason a guy is a stud for 'bagging' a bunch of women, but a girl who sleeps around is a 'whore', or used goods or something. I don't know. It kind sucks.
If you were not in football where your weight gives you an advantage, but instead a dorky, uncoordinated geek, I'm sure it would no longer be 'cool' to be fat.
Now, if the fat girls in your school did something where weight was good, like, sumo wrestling, or belly flop olympics, she would probably be praised like you for gaining weight.
FAT, whether on girls or guys, is not sexually attractive. Fat guys that get laid must also have super powers like humor, fame, money, charisma, or charm.

There is a double standard. I'm concerned about you 375 is obese not just a little overweight. Many women exercise and take care of themselves and they seek a height/weight proportionate man. Think about that and how it will be different when you graduate.

Are you saying it is acceptable for your buddies to call you fatty, tubby, and lard ***? Those people are your "friends" and they are calling you that? And you are laughing at it as well. It sounds to me like they are teasing you as well, you just haven't realized it yet.

Hey dude i'm 15 and 6'2. I am around 320 lbs and I have a lot of friends. It's all about your personality ! No one cares that you are fat and be glad you have all that weight, that makes you a better football player. Thanks, Brandon
