I think because people feel the need to define everything...on their own terms of what is acceptable and what is not, labels are bad

Maybe it's as simple as the word sounds;a way to categorize any given group with the same similarities. It's superficial because it lacks depth and can breed ignorance.

Because everyone wants to be special and have their own little clubs and causes. People can't be just people anymore. It has to make them stand out as individuals or special groups and heaven forbid if we aren't politically correct!
