Yes. Make yourself write for half an hour or so. If nothing is coming out then take a walk. Go write somewhere else. then try again

Any good writer knows that you stop writing when you have a block. It happens and it means it is time for a break. Blocks actually are good. When you go back to the material and read it over you get a totally different perspective and view and you can easily find mistakes or things that you need to change.
When it is hard to get back to writing after a break it is best to keep a notebook in your bedroom and another near where you sit in your home. If things even little things pop into your head write them down. Later in the week you can make sense of your writing inserts and make them come to life.
The best time for a writer to get creative ideas is just before you doze off to sleep or just upon arising. Keep a notebook there or you will lose valuable information.
Take a break as it helps you become a better writer.

Never stop writing unless, of course, you need a break. Although, I come up with great things when I'm not even concentrating on writing, which is why i find it very handy to always carry around a small notepad in my purse/backpack.
By the way, "writers block" means that you simply cannot think of ANYTHING for the life of you. Writing with an open mind is a great thing.

Keep writing. And you don't have to carry on writing what you were when you got blocked, just write anything. That will help you get creative again. I suffer from writer's block a lot, and carrying on writing helps me a lot. Also you can do free-association writing, which means putting your pen down on the paper and just writing anything that comes to your mind, that helps a lot too.
Another way apart from writing to get rid of writer's block is to change your daily routine. Do something different, and it can stimulate your mind and help you write.
Also take a look at this website:

Hope it helps! Good luck with your writing!

Ehhh, a lot of times when I have a block I sit down with a cup of tea and read someone else's work. As long as I've tried, anything I write when I suffer from Writer's Block is absolute crap.
But that's what editing is for, though, right?

I find that, for me, it is best if I keep writing. Keep writing even if it's awful...usually (in my case, and so it goes for many other writers I know) wonderful things come out of the awful drivel. You will find that your horrid bits will inspire greatness. Another trick is to read...read as much as you can as that will spark ideas or maybe help you figure out how to restructure something you are having a problem with.

I would say put away your current work for a while and just write things from the heart, not necessarily related to what you are writing. Once you start writing about other things you will gain momentum and then be able to return to your work feeling more inspired. Keep up the momentum but don't force yourself to write about something you are not feeling inspired about, rather write something else for a while.

Keep plugging away. Writing about anything will help you break the block.
This is geared more toward younger people, but I like using this website when I'm stuck: http://www.canteach.ca/elementary/prompts.html

sounds good, I, too, am having writers block, I've had it all day, possible because I have planned this scene out in my mind, but I don't have any other scenes started yet.
