Cape Cod, MA...such a relaxing place! It's not a city though, exactly. But it's beautiful and has great scenery.

All things being equal, I'd live in San Franciso.
It's the most beautiful city in the country (arguably). You have the ocean, nude beaches, night life, or intellectual endeavours. And if you need snow or the wilderness, Lake Tahoe is near by, as well as Yosemite.
If you really humped it, you could lay out on the beach, go deep sea fishing, and snow skiing all in the same day!

San Francisco or Seattle. Have lived in Tampa and New York. I live in Philly now. I like the mountains and the coller climates.

I live outside DC and love it here. Other U.S. cities that are noticeably nice: Atlanta, Asheville, NYC, Austin, Baltimore. Hated Dallas and Lubbock.

I'm from Europe. One of my American friends lives in Simi Valley, California, and from what I've seen on pics, I wouldn't mind living there at all.
(I'd love to live in California cuz of the climate!!!)
