Is having child like enthusiasm harmful? When does it get to be a problem?

Never grow up completely. Keep the child-like enthusiasm and wonder in your life, and keep life interesting! If you don't take responsibility in life, that would be a problem, but you can be responsible and still have fun! =)

Enthusiasm is normal no matter what age. If it is authentic, spontaneous and original it can be productive of many a happy time for anyone. If it is inappropriate and does not contribute to to the situation or does not coordinate in any way with reality in that it costs more than it is capable of giving then it can be a problem.

It gets to be a problem when you can't communicate on an adult level but, as for being a child at heart, I love it.

I still love slinkys (what walks downstairs alone or in pairs and makes a slinkedy sound....) smores, sledding down a small hill on a cardboard box or innertube or hubcap or whatever i can find (btw do NOT strap old style metal window blinds to your feet thinking you will be to heavy to ski down an icy hill)

Everyone thinks I'm about 10 years younger than what I am, not because I look younger but, because I don't act my age. I ask them how is a 36 year old woman supposed to act?

You know....no one has ever had an answer.

You should be thankful you have the youthfulness and energy of a child; There are many people who have never had the opportunity to be a kid even when they were children due to the circumstances of their family or financial lives. That's what I think about when I ask myself those questions.

It can only harm you around those with whom you must be serious like judges, the IRS, and at funerals.
