I think it is funny that all these people are so judgemental about someone that a stranger saw - didn't even talk to. She could just be playing all grown up and imitating other girls in the mall. How do you know that she is not a lovely child? How do you know what she cares about or what kind of parents she has. There are a lot of little actresses and starlets around and often times it has only to do with their larger than life personality and through the roof confidence. That's awesome - every kid should be so secure. And everybody else should mind their own business, if you ask me.

Peace!

I see the same thing everywhere I go it seems anymore. I have an 8 month old daughter and I'm not going to spoil her like my parents did me. I'm going to get her some of the things that she wants but not everything. Especially when it comes to clothes, I don't see the purpose of getting a small child a shirt that costs $50 or a pair of jeans for $75 or a pair of shoes for $100, that is so stupid!! Another thing I'm not going to let her grandparents spoil her either. She will only get things, such as toys, on special occasions. When I was younger I pretty much got everything I wanted but, I still didn't act like I was better than anyone. And I'll be damned if she does!

Same here. I was always wanting the pretty barbie or the holiday barbie. I wasn't greedy. I usually looked but that and doing their hair. Now all these kids are spoiled brats. When I was 12 I went to the mall and did dares. All the girls at my school it seems like have that attitude. They look down at me b/c i don't wear designer. I'm not rich. I have to pay for school.

I don't see it that way, children who have an attitude like that are usually independent and self confident and there is nothing wrong with that. A so called brat is more like a child having a screaming fit in a mall because mom doesn't want to give them candy but then you watch the mom give them the candy just to quiet them down and I think to myself poor kid has no limits he/she headed for trouble down the road. My daughter has an attitude like you say but she is confident and resourceful and she knows her limits and yes she does think she is better than most kids and I can honestly tell you she.

So youre implying that theres something wrong with little girls having a good self image? Or was she actually misbehaving? Tis just a little hard to take the barbies shopping and theres nothing wrong with wanting to look your best at any age, Im sure you preen as much as the next person!

I like being able to get my kids nice things- but they don't have an attitude. I hate parents that do that to their kids. My kids respect and care for others, which is something all parents need to teach their kids.

(by the way- all I cared about was barbies too! haha)

All I cared about was Barbies too! Now little girls are worrying about bras and makeup in kindergarden! All I have to say it that those children are going to have a tough time in the real world!

Parents these days are so much more lenient and generous. They let their kids get away with so much stuff. Spoiled kids are the results of bad parenting.
