In the "Forty Year Old Virgin" at a party his friends light an apple and make Steve Carell hold it by his nose. I've seen Charlize Theron in a pazarrazi photo holding up an apple and a lighter. What are they doing?

I dont know i've not seen that entertaining American production but if you smoke weed and then suck an orange it's really quite nice.
