XBOX 360 because its from Microsoft and that company is American owned.

Here are the three most popular: Wii, PS3, and XBOX360. I think the Wii is the best because it is new and different, and cheap. (It is probably the easiest to get out of the 3 also)
The Wii is new and very different. I have one and it is pretty fun. It takes getting used to though. The controller is slightly harder than the normal game controller, but it's new and fun. It is pretty cheap compared to the others. I think it is sold out, but there might still be some on ebay and thats where I got mine for only about 60-100 more than the original price.
Xbox- new Halo3 is coming out and its pretty much an ordinary game system. It is about the same cost of a Wii. Probably sold out.
PS3 (playstation 3)- costs JUST UNDER THE XBOX AND WII COMBIND! veery expensive, but also VERY popular. It is a normal game system with the normal controller and lots of fun games. This game is sold out! very rare chance of getting it.

Get the Wii. Take a look around. Wii you can't get anywhere unless you pay a crazy price, you can't say the same for the other two. From what I've heard, it's the best by far. Check out Wikipedia to see the awesome stuff it has. Wait until the stores restock and get one as soon as you can! ^_^

the Wii. It's the cheapest, and the most enjoyable, especially if you have a couple of people to play with. As a one person console, it's just as good as the 360 and PS3, but as a multiplayer, it rises far above any other console yet.

Gamecube or Nintendo DS are both pretty good. If you want a console i would suggest gamecube. Very wide variety of games from early childhood to mature and decent graphics. Definately not as good as the new systems but its a lot cheaper. The controls are also easy to learn.
