Go to yahoo auctions and buy a CD that teaches you how to build your own computer, not much more than $10.00 bucks then read all the information in it then look at your wallet and decide how much you can afford. if you buy all new parts not including a monitor you can build one for about $200.00 not much of one but when I started it was more than what you can get now. a 1 gig hard drive was going for $10,000 or there abouts.

You have to make sure that all the components are compatible with one another or you will waste money and frie your computer you are building. I am building a computer from ground up right now for my Sr. Project.
