I'm often surprised that jobs with the least responsiblity, usually pay more than the opposite. What job were you most surprised to hear paid really well?

Slacker? Are you kidding me? I guess that makes millionaires who make their money one day a week or less deadbeats. It's a sad state when society has programmed people into thinking that working hard for pennies is to be admired.

I think it seems that jobs where the person seems "idle" a lot pay well because they shoulder more burden. They have a little more at risk, maybe from a company standpoint or personnel. I have a great job, but I am constantly doing things, although I know others who have been in similar positions who just "watch" everyone else and get paid to do it. It's probably more about your neck being on the line vs what you are actually doing.

When I was working for the coffee shop in college... was paid 7.50$ an hour + tips... was fun... undeclared... paid much more than the same job at Dunkin Donuts (4.13$ an hour and less tips!)

I think any job with tips or commission you can make a lot of money if you are good with people.

Well I am a college student. I work part-time and make 10.00 an hour. I do clerical work at a local newpaper company. I don't plan to make a career out of this, but I do know of some people who make the equal amount as me with degrees. Go figure.
