We just got another juvinile corn snake on Saturday. On Sunday she ate two pinkies, and today she was held a little too much because we thought since the mouse lumps were gone it would be ok. She threw up one of them a few hours later, but I havn't seen the other one. She is still strong and acting normal. Does she need a vet? or should we just feed her another tomorrow?

#1, do not feed her again tomorrow, or the next day either! Feed her again Sunday. Once a week is plenty often enough. Plus, since she just threw up, you should give her system a chance to normalize again. I know I don't like to eat immediately after puking!

#2, in the future refrain from holding them for a least 2-3 days after they eat. I know it's hard, especially when you first get them and they are so cute, but it is best for everyone involved.

If she is "still strong and acting normal" I wouldn't rush her to the vet just yet, but keep an eye on her. Maybe you could even call around and find a specialist so that you have that number ready if you need to call on them. If she throws up anymore, or has any strange discharge, or acts real lethargic call the vet straight away.

Oh yah, and you should probably leave her alone and not hold her for the next day or two. Again, I don't like to be bothered when I've just thrown up!

Good luck!

are you crazy! you dont feed snakes that offten! once a week is normal and since it is juvenile you most likely shouldn't be feeding that much!general rule is don't feed anything larger than the fatest part or the snakes body. Also wait at least a day after feeding to handle, though 2 or 3 days is better. feeding to much to often can cause problems. don't feed again tomorrow wait till this sunday and if shes acting normal, I wouldn't worry too much about going to the vet. the problem was either you fed to much or you handled to soon or a lil` of both, hope this helps.

I think she'll be ok. Only feed her once a week and only a prey item that is large enough to cause a slight bulge in her body. Two small prey items is ok, but I find it best to only feed one.

I wouldn't take her to the vet. A good rule is to not handle your snake 24-48 hours after feeding. This gives the snake time to digest. Too much handling directly after a feeding can result in regurgitation.

if you handled her too much, then the regurgitation is normal. However, keep your eye out for other signs. My cornsnake from a year ago regurgitated its pinky and 12 hours later it had drainage from its nose. By the time i got him to the vet it was too late, he had got a respiratory infecttion from his bedding. (The bedding i used was ReptiBark, so PLEASE do not use this for your snakes.. indoor/outdoor carpet is the best way to go!!) Also, I wouldnt feed her another one until next weeks feeding.. 1 pinky will be fine till then, you just dont want to upset her tummy again!

Take her to a vet just to be safe.

She's fine. Just give her another one if she's hungry.
