It seems as though it is as Americans themselves bash the United States and a lot of good-minded people criticize the United States. Just a few hours ago, I posted a question saying how much anti-Americanism sucks and I got a overall negative response, even from some Americans!

I've bashed a lot of things about America over the years. I've come to accept the fact that I love this country as a whole but that doesn't mean I need to love everyone in it. I try very hard to NOT to be anti-American and more anti-individual, if you know what I mean. America is great but certain people and corporations are not so great. As a kid, I really took for granted the fact that in America, we are allowed to say we 'hate' America, etc.. It should have been obvious to me but it wasn't. I've thought a lot about that over the last few years and I realize that that alone is a good reason to love America!
Sometimes it's difficult to say that I'm proud of being American, especially because of some of the foreign policy over the years but I can say that I'm happy to live here and I hope I never feel the need to leave.

There's a difference between criticizing the US's government (which currently sucks) and bashing the American people (which rock hard). There's a feeling that if you criticize someone for 'being anti-American', you're questioning their patriotism or saying that they're not a true American, and there's a backlash against that.

Well, it is always good to be self-reflective. And maybe perhaps instead of seeing it as others against you or you against others, it would be better to look at the individual issues where America is hated or loved.
If people really hate America to the core, you would not see people wearing jeans or listening to pop music all over the world.
Anti-Americanism is justified in certain issues such as the middle east crisis but don't forget there are people loving America too and they are equally qualified to do so.

Being "Anti Americanism" is acting in judgment. However; I agree that the United States does stick its' nose into other peoples business therefore I can see why there is the existence of this feeling among the world.

Anti-Americanism is on the upward push right here in uk. i'm not particular what precisely is causing it. probable a mixture of pig lack of know-how and prejudice. the very similar slanderous accusations that are aimed in the route of the Yanks through those looney Brits who seem ever to be residing in a time-warp of around the time of the Vietnam conflict. hi - we've all moved on. you may bypass domicile now and performance a wash. I actually have solid reason to dispise anti-Americanism and it really is basically this! study the yankee bill of Rights, the statement of Independance and tell me what's faulty with both of those information? Now tell me basically how a lot freedom will we actually have right here in uk! not almost as a lot as is loved through the individuals. there's no justification ever for anti-Americanism. fantastic if someone needs to blast off at an American authorities yet please, not the yankee human beings. they are all doing their ideal to be effective, yet for the way a lot longer? in spite of everything, that's basically undeniable undesirable manners, in case you question me.

I'm an American and I’m sick of it. There are ways to express a difference of opinion in politics without bashing someone‘s nationality. I voted against George Bush in our last election, but I would never say "Bush makes me ashamed to be American." Unfortunately I keep hearing statements like that more and more frequently; it's disturbing.
If my country is so horrible, then why do we have so much immigration?

It all depends on your point of view. Some people see them as the international enforcers of liberty/humanity while others see them(US government&corporations) as dishonest arrogant tyrants. I have seen that US is very generous in terms of various aid to other countries. I have also experienced rude disrespectful americans visiting my country.
Credit to super power USA: They do not shoot their protesters with tanks.
