Hello,

I was just wondering if I could talk to the American Accountants who has worked in Australia. I'm graduating soon and moving to Australia. I just wanna know your experience was? The difficulties you encountered? How did you land up an accounting job with an American degree? How should I prepare myself to practice accounting? Will I get the proper training or are they just going to throw everything and expect me to know everything?

I'm very nervous. It would be great if you can share your experiences and suggest something for myself?

Thank you!

I am an Australian accountant. I think you will love working in Australia cause accountants down here ROCK !!!!! we party all night etc...well that is only in the good places.

Seriously but you will enjoy it, we are pretty short on accountants right now so you will be needed...our tax system is simlier too...I have seen your returns & they are not pretty...

Oh & being a graduate you will be expected to know how accounts work but if you go to a place that guarantees some training in the interview they will be fine to you. Don't go to a small firm but because it is too much of a gamble go to a place that is big as they are well aware of the skills graduates carry...which is really just having a general understanding of accounting. Our accounting standards have just change to the International standards so lots of people are becoming accustomed to these so you won't be Robinson crusoe there...& tax is constantly changing so again you won't be Robinson Crusoe.

The "way of existence" isn't all that complicated. you will comprehend new words given the context. All that rather concerns is your paintings eligibility and it seems such as you're in a close-by the place there is significant call for.
