Missed Period - This is probably one of the more reliable signs of pregnancy. Although some women will experience implantation bleeding about the time of their period, it is usually lighter and/or shorter than their normal period.
Blood tests are the most accurate and can be performed 7-10 days post-ovulation.
Signs & Symptoms of Early Pregnancy
Morning Sickness - This lovely affliction affects many pregnant women, but by no means all. It's estimated that only 50% of women will experience morning sickness.
Breast Soreness - Ouch! Don't touch that! Breast tenderness is experienced by many women, both during pregnancy and prior to their periods.
Headaches - Headaches are more common in pregnancy due to the changes in hormones. This may be a pregnancy symptom, but it is not necessarily a pregnancy sign. There are many things that could cause this, including stress.
Bloating - Some women do begin to bloat nearly immediately. Again, this is a symptom of pregnancy, but not necessarily a sign.
Vaginal Discharge - Vaginal discharge, without itching or burning, may be a sign of pregnancy. The cervix is building your mucous plug to block the opening of the cervix to help protect your baby from infections, etc. You might notice a slight increase in vaginal secretions. Again, it's shouldn't smell, burn or itch. These would be signs of infection that would require proper medical treatment.

When I found out I was pregnant with my now 20 month old daughter it took about 5 weeks after my last period. I went in to get put on birth control 4 week after my period and they do a pregnancy test and I tested negative in one week I went back to the health department to get started on my birth control they ask me when was the last time I started so I told then they took a second pregnancy test it was positive. At first there were no signs I was just a little more stressed and I took a road trip to California on Sept. 17 and was suppose to be gone for 10 days but it was only gone for 5 because I just felt so home sick. October 6 th is when I found out I was pregnant and it just got crazy from there. Morning sickness and weakness then my food increase.

Sadly, the earliest you can know for sure is right after a missed period in conjunction with a test. Many of the early symptoms of pregnancy are the same as those of PMS. It's hard to tell them apart.

The earliest day you can tell is the first day that your period should come. Take an HPT then and you'll know.
