You do not want to change all the water in your tank, nor do you want to change it every week. Depending on how many fish you have and how quickly the tank becomes a mess. If you have a skimmer on your tank, you will not need to change the water as frequently. Every two weeks is fine.
Roughly, cleaning your tank:
Scrape any unwanted alge from the sides of the glass. Use your sypon to clean debris from the bottom of your tank. Usually this will use about 10-15% of your tanks water.
After dumping that water, be sure to rinse the bucket DO NOT USE BLEACH. Tap water or filtered water is fine just remember to use Clor out or start right or a dechlorinator to the water. Add your salt to bring your salt level to where your tank is use a hydrometer to be sure the levels are the same. Try to keep the water about the same temperature...or as close as posiable. Carefully pour the new water into the tank to fill. Make sure if you are using a carbon filter system ( I don't reccomend) clean and change filter pads.

its a very complex process. need to check the pH levels. for example if u have a tank with 30 gallons water, you need to setup another tank with the same amount of water, mix the marine salt in that and put a powerful filter in it and it should get conditioned.the gradually use one tube to take the old water out and the other to let the new one in., that's how u change the water.

I simply siphon it out and replace it with water that has been pre-mixed and let sit overnight with a heater in it to bring it up to tank temperature.
Stop by the beginners SW chat session tomorrow night at FishGeeks.
