I'm still wodering if i should quit football or not (im a junior by the way in highschool). I want to quit but i'm scared i'm going to regret it. I don't want to think about it anymore because it makes my head hurt! Maybe if i change my mind after i quit i can come back? I really want to quit but im still scared i'm gonna regret it. I'm just sicc of them yelling at me for little things i know they're coaches but i'm just getting sicc of it! Maybe i should just quit?

I say QUIT! I've played a lot of sports and I loved it, but having good positive coaches makes all the difference. Can you play another sport instead? Yes, they might ask why you quit. But you don't have to answer if you don't want to. You could say "personal reasons" or say that you've got a bum shoulder or that you want to focus more on school and your college applications. If you want to change things for the next group of kids, you might try telling them that you play football for fun and when they yell at you for little things, it's just pointless. They probably won't listen... You could also consider writing to the principal or the athletic director and suggesting that the coaches need to change their approach. It's HIGH SCHOOL, not pro ball. Kids don't need to be yelled out. They need to get out there and have fun.

You'll regret it if you quit, haven't you noticed that most people that have crappy jobs and stuff always find a reason to quit (my boss is an asshole, blah, blah, blah). Everyone I know that has some degree of success puts the little things into perspective and looks at the big picture. They fix it by becoming the boss. They make things happen, not let others decide for them.
Unless you have a valid reason, I would stay, you will have many years of regret if you look back and have to say "what if?"
Stick by your decision and the headache will go away, just decide.

As much you may hate your coaches, I would not quit. I'm a Sr. in High school, and I'm a swimmer, and over the years, there were deffinitly times when I wanted to kill my coach, but there are a lot of great things that come out of being on team sports. As a senior i realized this year that swimming was what made my high school years enjoyable. You shouldnt let a coach make you hate a sport or what you love to do. when your a senior i promise that you will be glad that you stuck with it.

How are you compelled to continue? I imagine it would be awkward to see the coaches in the hall afterwards, or worse, your teammates.
What else interests you? Are there any clubs you can join and dive into? If you find something different that's more "you," you'll have a valid excuse to switch activities.
If you're under pressure from your parents, then you gotta see the counselor, I'm sorry (and not because there's something wrong with your family, but because you'll need the support to defy tradition).

Just follow your heart man. I'm a sophomore and my parents keep trying to make there big 210 pound son play defense and i keep saying no, and i keep saying no because I don't feel like playing. BESIDES none of positions i play are any fun. But just do what your heart tells you. In the end it all works out. Oh, and dont worry. be happy.
