I'm not totally against them, but personally I'd never like to have one for myself.

This also goes with another question, does love grow or does it have to just happen?

Bottom line.... When you wake up in the morning, it's your spouse you have to wake up with. Not your dads business partners daughter, or your moms cousins niece. The two of you have to make your marriage work only for the two of you. There's nobody else in bed with you two. So doesn't it make sense then that you should have your own choice who you marry? Regardless of the political ramifications? I'm sure that some arranged marriages bloom into a loving relationship, But is seems to me that love has to develop before you're married, not as a hopeful, possible consequence of marriage.

Arranged marriages have been very successful if the two parties involved have the option of declining the arrangement if they find they're not attracted or compatible with each other....being "forced" to marry is wrong. Love can grow and usually does if both parties respect each other.

I do not believe in a arranged marriage. Love is suppose to come before marriage. Being forced into a marriage , might take longer to fall in love, or just live a pretense , with a lot of resentment.

Well persoanlly I'd never want to be forced into an arranged marriage. I don't want to get married at all let along be forced to marry someone I dont like or don't even know. As for the whole love growing thing... definately! Anyone that says they're had love at first sight and all that crap was just horny... its called lust at first sight. Sure it might have worked out and while they were lusting for eachother they began to love eachother, but it definately takes time. This one girl that I was friends with but she was obsessed with me and I told her I didn't like her like that and would never date ended up being the love of my life. After spending time with her for months I ended up falling for her even tho it was probablly the biggest mistake I ever made lol. 3.5 years down the drain because she ended up cheating on me and getting pregnant and I still love her to this day.

Well..They should also have arranged divorces for when it is over.. hahaha.. Marriage is a legal and religious ceremony for two people who love each other... it should always be that way. Even for those marriages that do not succeed, in the beginning of the marriage, they both love each other.. arranged marriages are not good

i think arranged marriages r more successful than others. but also both of them must be agreed to get married. they should atleat know mett each other one or twice before marriage and really think that they can adjust. whether its love or arrange marriage in whole life their must be some problem, and they have to solve everthing carefully & try not to hurt any one of them. only then arrange marriage will be satisfied.

Arranged marriages are for people who are xenophobic/racists. Marriage is for people who love each other, because its supposed to be a life contract.

They have as much a chance as any other marriage to make it or fail. I personally couldn't see myself being in one, but I wasn't raised in a culture where it is practiced regularly.
