Does anyone know how much a digital scale would cost that can messure acurate down to 1mg?

If you catch them on sale, you can sometimes get into the $500 range. Here is a reference with some examples about $750. Other companies to check are VMR, Fisher, and Thomas.

Go on e-bay and put "analytical balance" in as the search criterion and you can find out easily.
