i am replacing my pump i need to know if the allan in the center turns and wich direction? thank you

Are you sure the problem is the pump? There was something that was commonly called the "GM power steering syndrome" back in that era. It was caused by the rack and pinion assembly and was quite common.

Many GM cars in the 100,000 mile range had this. Some had it sooner, some later, some never. Replacing the pump would do nothing to help this problem.

If you are not positive it is the pump, you might want to post your symptoms and other information.

No. It does not turn. You need to get a power steering pump pulley puller. You will also need this tool to get the pulley back on. DO NOT hammer the pulley on.

it doesn't hold the pulley on. you need a special tool to remove and install the pulley. you have to use a puller to remove it and a installing tool to press it back on.

Be sure not to overfill it and pressure it up until it leaks again, duh, but people do it.
