Do we tend to make more mistakes like

you're your
its -it's
they're -their

in typing email or other rapid, casual keyboarding than
in handwriting or thoughtful typing?

Any others? Any thoughts?

You probably make the same amount of mistakes either way, but when doing thoughtful typing, you correct the mistakes.

While typing in computer we generally expect things to be very fast and the same is generally reflected in typing fastly which some times leads to mistakes.

Also, most of the computer operators do not practice keyboard usage perfectly, they just want to learn the keys quickly and proceed to the operations as soon as possible without taking care of perfection in keyboarding - which also is the reason of the mistakes.

The usage of SMS and computers are tending people to use as short as possible words, which are resulting in various changes in the general/casual usage of words

What is required is little patience and clear thoughts about the patience . Also keyboard learning practice is to be made perfect.

Yeah, I do it all the time. Especially on the net when talking to people. Normally I type 50 wpm but when you are trying to put something across conversationally, especially if you want to be 'first in line' to answer, you're gonna make mistakes. ;)

No, I don't because I learned the differences in school. I only slip up on spelling because my typing skills leave much to be desired.
