For me I am only one way and I prefer to be one way; don't like wasting my time with other personas as they may get in the way.

Oh I agree 100%. I am a grandmother, a mother and a wife of over 25 years. I help out at my church and am a nursery leader. I help out the older ladies in the church too.
If anyone thinks for one minute that my husband of 25 plus years and the old ladies at church get the same me, they are crazy. If anyone thinks that my grandchildren and my children get the same me then they are a little loopy too. I have a daughter who is mentally ill and I am raising her children so no I don't act the same way around her as I do my daughter who just had a baby that I won't be raising.
I absolutely act differently around different people. I was watching a show a few years ago and they were interviewing different white house personnel. Past and present. One of the people interviewed was Bill Clinton. He said it best when he talked about all of the world leaders and others who would enter the White House. He said that they could talk to his staff and were just fine with the whole deal, but the minute that they walked in to the Oval Office with the President sitting or standing there, they just could not speak. Yes, we do act differently around different people.
Every one does even if they refuse to admit it. A teenager acts differently in front of their friends then they do their parents.

There are so many different aspects of our being and we learn to express ourselve in so many ways, many of which are unconcious. At the neo-psychic level each and every activity that is percieved by our senses is retained and most of those are unconcious. As children we have absorbed in some way and retained within the impressions left by other humans. As adults we use the impression of that person or group of persons where we think will get us the most of the situation. Sometimes our true authentic self comes out where we feel comfortable to do. And other times we can dilute our authentic self to whatever degree we must and can even disengage from any form of authenticism and use whatever personality we must to meet the occasion.

I feel that everyone has to use a different persona in a different situation but not overdoing it and becoming a "fake " person for example your not going to act the same with your buddies as you do if your working in a professional atmosphere where you cannot crack the same jokes and laugh about stupid things theres a time to be professional and theres a time to act stupid there are many other ways in which we have to change and become that "different person" all the time

As long as I am not trying to be someone other than my true self, I am happy with different personalities, so to speak. I think it is only natural to behave in accordance to the relationships you cultivate with different people. They are all just different variations of the same personality, unless you are just totally faking it.

when studying people, and using different personalities, you find out what kind of people your surrounding yourself with. For example when your around different people all the time and you try to be like them as individuals, sometimes you find out there trying to be like you and you wouldnt have known it until you tapped into there state of mind. You also find out how to not be yourself (real self) and when one of friends do something to you like f*ck you over, you can say you coverd your bases cause they never knew the real you in the first place, so bouncin off them want hurt you 1 bit, but by you not caring it will kill them cause they thought they had a connection with you...pretty cool huh......but so far as being yourself always be yourself, just dont walk around thinking your cool with everybody cause gurantee thats not the case

We may not be aware of it, but we take on somewhat different personas, especially when it comes to our roles, and who/where we are with. These personalities we present or take on are not necessarily "fake," but may be part of an integrated personality that is truly who we are. It is common sense that we act differently according to different situations.

I dont feel as though i have different personalities. But i do think that certain people bring out certain characteristics in me more than others. For example, when i'm with my friends i tend to laugh a lot more than when im with my co-workers. When i'm with people from my church i tend to listen and observe more. All in all though, im just me.
