Well, let's look at the positive and negative sides to homework. On the positive side, homework helps refresh the students mind after he or she has left school. Negativly, too much homework (on behalf of an annoying teacher) causes stress and slows down the academic preformance of the student.

Well, for many it seems as an inconvienence that takes up our precious time we can spend doing something at least ten times better. However it actually may not be as pointless as we deem it to be in the end. Sure some teachers back in grade school would give "busy work" that did not really go along with the lesson. Then high school began to line up a bit more at the end as the teachers felt we needed to be prepared for college. Now that I am in college I wish I had as much of the easy/busy work I once had because the homework I am now assigned is the work I once did during class. No longer is there busy/easy work to make the grade but I actually have to work to keep my grade. Therefore, no matter the reason homework is necessary. I don't mean to discourage you from college either because that is going to be some of the best years of your life. Hey, look on the brightside, with homeowrk taking up some of your time the less chores you have to do (lol). Best of luck in your studies.

Yeah, b/c doing homework is how you LEARN what they're trying to teach you. And the stuff they're teaching you may seem pretty pointless now, but if you don't learn it, when you're an adult, all the other adults will think you're stupid. Some of the things you learn are truly useless, like the capitols of States, but many things you'll wind up needing to know, especially if you want a good job, like how to write well, spell correctly, do algebra, fractions, and simple geometry, be able to read and understand difficult books and articles, formulate a good argument, have a grasp of scientific method, and know about Hamlet.

A lot of "pointless" essays you write are important for developing your writing skills, and also introduce phrases that you'll hear referred to in the news, and increases your vocabulary, and strengthens your ability to make a good, clear argument. These skills are really valuable to adults, because without them, you LOSE. You really need decent writing skills to get a good job, unless it's in math. And then you have to be REALLY good at math.

Plus, if you do your homework you learn enough to get good grades, and if you get good grades, you can go to college, and college ROCKS!!!!!!! College is SO much fun. You only have like one or two classes a day and the rest of the time you party with your friends and there are no parents but also you don't have to worry about paying your own bills yet. Trust me, you WANT to go to college. Oh yeah, plus a college degree will get you higher-paying jobs and you'll be richer.

But yeah. HW is the practice you need to learn this stuff. Some of it is bs but most of it is useful in some way.

Yes, and as physical exercise is important to the health of your body, homework is the exercise for your mind... it helps you to learn and to remember the assignment... It also helps you to develop an interest in the topic... I know that there are those who laugh, but homework also develops a good work habit and you will be glad you learned how to work someday! This homework will also come in handy when you are older, like in college... or on the job! It's just like anything else that you are learning while you are young... it is for your benefit to help you as you become an adult! It's also better for you to do this homework while you are mentally alert and can focus on it... not when you are supposed to be going to sleep, or trying to wake up! :0) Good luck and stay with it ok!

I believe homework is necessary (in small amounts) to teach you responsibility and getting something done on time, which is what you will be doing a lot in the real world.

Well actually i think that it is and it isn't.I think that it is because some extra work never hurt anybody especially if you are not good in that subject. I think it isn't because sometimes people have other things to attend to like church, team sport practice or maybe even a funeral, who knows!!

homework is neccesary since you then have extra practise to see what you know and what you don't know. when a teacher gives you homework, she is trying to see what you know and don't know. If you do your homework, you will definetely get better marks and get good practise and knowledge about what you need to know. Then when you get a quiz, test, or exam, you will know your stuff. This is why hoemwork is important.

I would say yes because it re-enforces what you learned in class, and it also allows you to pick up concepts and ideas that may not be clear to you when you first encounter the topic in class.
