You are definitely not alone on this one.
The longer Bush remains in power, the more saintly Nixon becomes. We shall call him St. Nix.

Um yeah, all that mumbo jumbo above makes Nixon look better than Clinton? I'm not sure what people on these boards are smoking, but the country did better under Clinton than any other president - a fact compiled by the not so liberal folk at Forbes. I'm not sure about Nixon V. Bush though, how many people died for Nixon's lies? I just find it unbelievably repulsive and telling about a country that would impeach a man for lying about his own personal sex life but not a man who lied to start a war that has killed hundreds of thousands of people and has no end. I'm not sure why one has to be a friggin rocket scientist to figure this out. The whole idea of restoring dignity is such a crock. Bush has about as much dignity as a trouser snake. He's about as religious as one, as well. And all the Republicans complaining about immigration on these boards should rightly note the huge increase in illegal immigration right after Bush proposed amnesty. The guy flip-flops way more than John Kerry ever did. He's been the worst environmental president in history, has lost more jobs than any president since the Depression, and has turned a huge surplus (thanks again, Clinton!) into an enormous deficit, not to mention he's borrowd more money from foreign countries than the last FORTY presidents combined. But thanks again, dignity! Our baby will never be aborted, but he'll probably die for his rich greedy fascist government when we're off fighting world war V with yet another country that never posed any threat to us.
It just ... absolutely shocks me that anyone, anywhere, would approve of this man. Even more sick, a lot of the people who approve of him are the middle-class folk he then turns and screws over the most. Incredible.

Don't know about that, but he sure makes Clinton "slick Willy" look like a sex perverted lecher! It's nice to see some respectability back in the White House and the knee pads out of the Oval Office ...
Oh and Clinton had impeachment proceedings just like Nixon was threatened with...
Gosh, I think the question should be doesn't Clinton make just about every president look better?
(and before people start with rude comments, as embarrassing as this is to admit I voted for Clinton twice so I can say what I want)

Aug. 1971 Nixon and Congress took the Dollar off the Gold Standard, putting it on the Oil Standard.
This was done as one article I read, as a kid, put it, ...to bring jobs and stability to the Middle East...
Bush has done what? ...authorized an increased fill rate on the Strategic Petroleum Reserve through the Royalties In Kind Program. Made a call for more MTBE's to be added to gasoline.
This has both taken oil off the market and added increased costs to a gallon of gasoline. Driving up the costs of oil.
Now ask yourself what this has done to the dollar?
Nixon had the better idea.

I'm European and I',m old enough to remember (at least vague) Nixon.
They are not comparable in personality: Nixon's personality wasn't adequate for a president, G.W. Bush's intellectual abilities disable him for that. My personal view is that Bush causes more damage to Americas reputation, to the political and military stability of the world, to the environment, he made that intelligent design or torture discussion generally accepted, ... I wouldn't want to be Bush's successor to clean up all that mess that he caused.
I'm a PhD student, and I remember the times when America was a favored country for a post doc position: These times are gone, so at least Nixon never isolated America as Bush did. I know Americans who disguise themselves as Canadians when to Europe to avoid these discussions, did Nixon also caused that embarrassment?

It's just you. You had to have been there to see what really bad is. I voted for Nixon because of the lousy choice the Democrats gave us. I haven't gotten over being mad about it.

You OBVIOUSLY were not around to watch the Tricky Dick Show; trust me, there's no comparison.
Now, if you want to compare the Clinton's to Nixon you've got some real material to work with there.
